We’ve just received some great news! CarreraS is about to depart Opua and will rejoin the race.
John Meadowcroft contacted the RAYC / Auckland Nouema Race Committee to officially advise of the decision.
“Confirming that we have fixed our engine issues and will be rejoining the race,” said skipper John Meadowcroft.
This is CarreraS’s second attempt to get to Noumea after having to withdraw during the 2012 race. The team were determined to race to Noumea and from the news just received, they will be able to successfully do that.
CarreraS is a Marten 49 now owned by Victorian sailor Gerry Cantwell.
